More evidence vs ‘Poblacion Girl'
MANILA, Philippines — Police have obtained additional evidence against Gwyneth Anne Chua, also known as “Poblacion Girl,” who is facing charges for allegedly breaching quarantine at the Berjaya Makati Hotel in December.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the new pieces of evidence obtained by the police will further strengthen the cases against Chua.
The source did not give details about the additional evidence that will be submitted to the Makati prosecutor’s office, which set another hearing on Feb. 21.
After skipping the preliminary investigation hearing last week, Chua attended the proceedings on Monday.
Also present were her parents, her alleged boyfriend Rico Atienza and their lawyers.
The employees of The Berjaya Hotel who were included in the charge sheet – Gladiolyn Biala, Den Sabayo, Tito Arboleda, Esteban Gatbonton and Hannah Araneta – also attended the hearing.
Chua and the other respondents were charged by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group with violating Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
