3 nabbed for killing teen in gang war
MANILA, Philippines — Three men were arrested for allegedly killing a 15-year-old boy in a gang war in Tondo, Manila on Thursday.
Elan Crisostomo, 21; John Andrey Villanueva, 22, and Prince Jack Cabigao, 18, were caught in a follow-up operation by police officers from the Manila Police District’s Raxabago station.
Crisostomo allegedly belonged to the Commando crime gang while the two others were members of the Sputnik gang, police said.
The three men were reportedly caught shooting the victim, who was not identified, near Building 9 along Mel Lopez Boulevard, according to police.
Gang rivalry was the motive for the attack, Raxabago station commander Lt. Col. Cenon Vargas Jr. said.
Crisostomo and Villanueva said they were forced to retaliate because the victim’s group had been killing their group’s members.
The three suspects were caught with two revolvers and a knife allegedly used to kill the victim.
