MANILA, Philippines — Five policemen are believed to be behind the kidnapping of a businessman from Naga City in Camarines Sur and the killing of his sales agent.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is set to file charges of kidnapping with homicide, kidnapping with serious illegal detention and violation of Republic Act 10883 or the Anti-Carnapping Law against the policemen.
Businessman Jaime Faramil Jr. and sales agent Rodrigo Duena, who left Naga on Dec. 26 for a business transaction, failed to return to their homes.
Duena was found dead in Tayabas, Quezon on Dec. 30. Faramil remains missing.
A security official, who spoke on condition that he is not named, said some of the policemen are members of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) in Calamba, Laguna.
“We expect the charges to be filed this month,” the official said.
Operatives of CIDG-Quezon led by Lt. Col. Ariel Huesca, who raided the HPG office in Barangay Paciano on Feb. 4, found the identification cards of Faramil and Duena as well as Duena’s cell phone.
The policemen tagged in the incident were not present during the raid.
Huesca declined to give details, saying it would jeopardize their operations against the suspects.
