MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected robbers were killed in an alleged shootout with police in Quezon City on Monday.
The incident occurred at the corner of Dona Rosario and Dona Isaura streets in Barangay Novaliches Proper at around 3:10 a.m., the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said.
Operatives of QCPD Station 4 were pursuing the still unidentified suspects, who allegedly robbed a gasoline station in Barangay Sauyo at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police flagged down the two men, who were riding a motorcycle, but they allegedly pulled out handguns and shot at the lawmen, triggering a firefight.
The two suspects died at the scene. Two handguns, two sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, a cell phone and P8,718 cash from the gasoline station were recovered from the suspects.
Probers recovered seven bullet casings at the scene of the shooting.
