31 pigeon breeders nabbed over health protocols
MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-one pigeon breeders were apprehended for allegedly violating COVID-19 protocols in Quezon City on Friday night.
The breeders, led by Richard Gravidez, were caught by police officers of Quezon City Police District Station 7 along N. Domingo street in Barangay Kaunlaran at around 9:45 p.m.
Station commander Lt. Col. Elizabeth Jasmin said police officers on an anti-crime operation spotted Gravidez’s group along the street disregarding distancing protocols.
They were in possession of around 100 racing pigeons, she said.
“Most of them were not properly wearing face masks,” Jasmin said in a message on Viber.
They were apprehended for not complying with provisions of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
The violators were issued ordinance violation receipts.
