BUTUAN CITY, Philippines — Unvaccinated residents of Carmen town in Agusan del Norte face fines.

Carmen Mayor Jovitte Calo issued an executive order on Jan. 27 for the mandatory vaccination of members of the eligible population, including minors aged 12 to 17.

Under the EO, unvaccinated residents will not be allowed to go out of their homes except to procure essential goods and services. They will not also be allowed to make transactions in private and public establishments as well as buy and sell any product or commodity.

Violators face fines ranging from P500 to P1,000.

A ”no vaccination, no entry” policy is being enforced at a joint police, military and Department of Health checkpoint in Barangay Tagcatong near the boundary of Agusan del Norte and Misamis Oriental.
