DOTr launches app, command center

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has launched a new incident reporting mobile app and a central command center aimed at addressing road accidents and motor vehicle crimes.

With road accidents and motor vehicle-related crimes remaining as perennial problems in the country, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said the Land Transportation Office (LTO)’s newly inaugurated central command center (C3) could help address and solve these woes with the aid of an incident reporting mobile app called CitiSend.

Tugade said the LTO C3 and CitiSend would serve as the road user’s direct line of communication to the LTO.

“With the help of this infrastructure and once you use this CitiSend app, you will have a direct connection to LTO wherein happenings that affect security and safety of the public will be given solution and attention,” he said during the C3’s inauguration yesterday.

The facility will also serve as the joint LTO and Philippine National Police operations and control center.

The LTO C3 is located at the fourth floor of the LTO central office on East Avenue in Quezon City.
