New party-list representative sworn in

MANILA, Philippines — Rep. Edward delos Santos of Ang Probinsiyano party-list has been sworn in as a member of the House of Representatives.

During a hybrid plenary session on Monday, Speaker Lord Allan Velasco announced that Delos Santos replaced Ronnie Ong, who was officially dropped from the chamber’s roster.

Ong resigned from the group after he was named first nominee of Ako’y Pilipino party-list in November last year. The second and third nominees are Rey Tambis and Christopher Tio, respectively.

“We thank Speaker Velasco and our colleagues in Congress for their support in our decision as they have finally implemented my removal as member of the House,” Ong said in a statement.
