New Eastern Visayas top cop named
MANILA, Philippines — Former Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac is the new director of the Eastern Visayas police.
Banac will have supervision over police forces in Biliran, Leyte, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar and Southern Leyte.
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra, former Quezon City Police District chief, took over as Calabarzon police director yesterday.
PNP deputy chief for administration Lt. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz said Yarra replaced Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz.
Cruz was designated deputy chief of the Area Police Command for the Visayas.
