MANILA, Philippines — Parts of the Visayas, Mindanao, Palawan and Bicol will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms in the next three days due to a low-pressure area.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area was spotted in the vicinity of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur as of 10 a.m. yesterday.

The weather bureau said the weather system has a low chance of developing into a typhoon in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The weather system was expected to bring light to moderate with at times heavy rain over the Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga peninsula, Sorsogon, Masbate and Cagayancillo Islands.

PAGASA said the low-pressure area would pass through the Visayas and Mindanao toward Sulu Sea.

The rest of Luzon will experience generally fair weather with scattered rain due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.

The northeast monsoon will continue to bring cold weather in Metro Manila ranging from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius and 15 to 23 degrees Celsius in Baguio City.
