Bacolod named ‘most business-friendly’ LGU
MANILA, Philippines — Bacolod City bagged the “Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit“ or LGU award last year, surpassing 10 other finalists in the highly urbanized city category of the nationwide search organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The search focused on LGUs that have been ”successfully restoring and increasing the business operations in their area through significant and sustained innovative actions amid the extreme challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The city government entered into a partnership with Ayala Malls Capitol Central last year to open its first Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) processing center for yearly business permit renewals outside the government center.
BOSS was set up on the fourth floor of Ayala Malls and catered to up to 500 applications per day last year.
The Bacolod City LGU renewed the partnership with Ayala Malls for BOSS this year.
“We would like to congratulate the Bacolod City government headed by our Mayor Bing Leonardia for their continued efforts in ensuring that our local businesses thrive despite the pandemic,” Sharon Ciocon, Ayala Malls Capitol central general manager, said. ”Ayala Malls Capitol Central is committed to work with the city government and amplify their initiatives in every way we can.”
BOSS is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until March 31.
