2 barkers nabbed for fake vax card sale

Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two public transport barkers were arrested in Pasay on Monday night for allegedly selling fake vaccination cards.

Alex Tadeo, 39, and Eddie Garcia, 46, were apprehended along Apelo Cruz street, according to a Southern Police District spot report.

The suspects were spotted when police verified a tip regarding the supposed distribution of falsified vaccination cards for P500.

Police confiscated a suspected fake vaccination card and a cell phone containing the two suspects’ transactions.

The government earlier said those who are unvaccinated would be barred from public transport unless they are travelling for essential purposes.
