4 hit by stray bullets in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Four persons, two of them minors, were wounded after they were hit by stray bullets during a gunfight between two suspected drug dealers in this city on Monday night.

Two of the victims were identified as Benkimar Eslim, 26, and Al-Aziz Baguinda, 18. The minors were aged 16 and 12. They were taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Maj. Salvador Galvez, Police Station 6 commander, said the gunfight occurred in Barangay Kasanyangan at around 8:30 p.m.

The suspects fled on foot.

“The victims were just buying street food when they were caught in the crossfire,” Galvez said.
