‘Actor’ caught selling antigen test kits
MANILA, Philippines — A man claiming to be an actor and his companion were arrested in Quezon City on Friday night for allegedly selling unauthorized COVID-19 antigen test kits.
Henry Lo, 56, who told police he had minor roles in ABS-CBN’s hit television series “Ang Probinsyano,” was apprehended together with Harold Lo, 26, in an entrapment operation in Barangay Socorro at around 8 p.m.
Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized 50 boxes of Clungene antigen test kits valued at P200,000 from the suspects during the sting at the parking lot of a supermarket at the corner of EDSA and Main Avenue.
Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, CIDG National Capital Region field office chief, said the suspects are members of a criminal gang based in Manila involved in the illegal online sale of COVID-19 test kits.
Police also seized a Toyota Vios and a cell phone from the suspects, who are being held on charges of violating Republic Act 9711, the Food and Drug Administration Act.
