MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government yesterday warned at least 114 market vendors who were found to be unvaccinated, but continue to work in public places.
The vendors, 76 men and 38 women, failed to present vaccination cards when asked by inspectors from the Market Development and Administration Department and the Department of Public Order and Safety.
DPOS chief Elmo San Diego said 59 vendors are from the Mega Q-Mart while 44 are from the Arayat Market.
The inspectors also went to the Farmers Market where 11 vendors failed to present vaccination cards.
President Duterte has ordered officials to restrict the movement of unvaccinated people.
San Diego did not give figures, but he said some of the vendors admitted they have yet to get COVID-19 jabs.
The inspectors reminded the vendors to have themselves vaccinated.
San Diego said the local government would give P2,000 in financial aid to each vendor while they are confined to their homes.
