4 robbery suspects found dead

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Three suspected members of a robbery holdup gang were found dead in Negros Occidental while the body of their alleged leader was recovered in this city yesterday.

Lt. Liberty Indiape, Bacolod police deputy spokesperson, said the body of Arnold Cuadra, said to be the leader of the Aki-Cuadra gang, was found along the riverbank in Barangay Villamonte.

On Friday, three of the suspects were reportedly snatched by unidentified men from their rented house in Barangay Vista Alegre in this city.

Cuadra tried to escape, but the armed men caught up with him near the riverbank, Station 7 police chief Capt. Elmer Bonilla said.

The remains of Jhundelle Rafols, 25, and his cousin Leonil Rafols Jr. were recovered in Barangay Blumentritt in Murcia town.

Another suspect identified only as Cogan was found dead in Purok Malipayo in Barangay Atipulu-an in Bago City.
