MANILA, Philippines — Six more areas in the National Capital Region were placed yesterday under granular lockdown, bringing to 22 the number of places in the NCR where the movement of people is restricted due to COVID-19.
Four of the locked down areas are in Manila while the other two are in northern Metro Manila, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
Sixteen areas under lockdown are in northern Metro Manila, followed by five in Manila and one in southern Metro Manila.
The PNP said 20 households or 70 people are affected by the lockdown. Securing them are 42 police officers and 52 force multipliers.
At least 6,966 people were apprehended in Metro Manila for violating COVID-19 protocols since Alert Level 3 was imposed in the region on Monday.
The PNP said 6,859 people were accosted for disregarding minimum public health standards and 107 for violating curfew ordinances.
