MANILA, Philippines — The San Juan government yesterday opened the registration for COVID-19 vaccination of children aged 5 to 11.

Mayor Francis Zamora asked parents to sign up their children for inoculation at http://bit.ly/39Bi7ri or scan the QR code on his official Facebook page.

Zamora said they are waiting for the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to approve the guidelines allowing children ages 5 to 11 to get vaccinated.

“They have rolled out the pediatric vaccination in other countries and we are hopeful that the IATF and DOH (Department of Health) will soon come up with guidelines,” he said.

Zamora said the city government is ready to inoculate children aged 5 to 11.

He received his booster shot yesterday at the FilOil Flying V Center.

Zamora called on his constituents who have yet to get boosters to register with the city’s vaccine registration portal.
