2 slain in South Cotabato attack

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines — Two persons were shot dead by unidentified assailants in Surallah, South Cotabato on Monday.

Helen Aspera, 54, and her nephew Gentry Domingo, 34, died at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial investigation showed two men arrived at the house of the victims and shot them through the windows before fleeing, according to Maj. Romy Castañares, chief of the Surallah police.

Probers said they received information that Aspera was locked in a land dispute with another family.

Police have yet to identify the assailants.
