10 teachers, driver hurt in North Cotabato accident
ALAMADA, North Cotabato — Ten professors and a driver were hurt when their vehicle plunged into a low side of a highway and hit a house in Barangay Barangiran here Thursday.
Major Bryan Espinosa, chief of the Alamada Municipal Police Station, said Friday the victims were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Ten of them are professors in the Cotabato City State College. Their driver was also injured in the accident.
They were returning to Cotabato City from an activity in Bukidnon when they figured in the accident.
Espinosa said the injured van driver claimed he lost control of the wheel after its brake system malfunctioned.
Witnesses told reporters the van first wiggled before it fell into the side of the highway and landed on a house some 20 feet below.
“Good enough no one perished in the accident,” Espinosa said.
A number of passengers were also hurt in two accidents in the same barangays early on.
