2 drown in Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — Two persons drowned on a beach in Barangay Estanza in this town on Monday.

Matthew Ace Feralca, 12, and Jennifer Peralta, 30, both residents of Barangay Estanza, were declared dead on arrival at the Jesus Nazarene Hospital and Lingayen District Hospital, respectively.

Matthew’s brother, Matt Ivan, 9, who was rescued by a concerned citizen, is in stable condition in a hospital.

Initial investigation showed the victims, who went to the beach with their grandmother Zenaida, were swept away by the strong current.
