MANILA, Philippines — This year is an award year for San Juan City, Mayor Francis Zamora said yesterday.

In his State of the City Address, Zamora said San Juan’s vaccination program was “recognized by no less than President Duterte. San Juan has implemented this year 18 waves of relief good distribution, the highest number of ayuda distribution by any local government unit (LGU) in the country.”

Zamora also said San Juan was recently recognized by the Department of Finance’s Bureau of Local Government Finance as the top performing LGU in Metro Manila and the third in the Philippines for fiscal year 2020.

San Juan ranked first among all cities in Metro Manila in terms of efficiently collecting government taxes, collecting P1.73 billion or 137.1 percent of its target of P1,26 billion.

In terms of efficiency of collection of locally sourced revenues in the country, San Juan City ranked third, after Legazpi City and San Pedro City.
