2 dead in Bataan road mishap

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Two persons died and four others were injured when their motorcycle with a sidecar locally known as kolong kolong collided with a trailer truck on the opposite lane along Roman Highway in Samal, Bataan on Monday night.

Reports reaching this camp identified the fatalities as Romnick Ramil, driver of the kolong kolong, and his backrider Jamie Jimenez, 13.

The passengers of the kolong kolong – Alfred David, Rosalie Jimenez, her three-year-old child Jam Jimenez and Emelita Suarez, 58 – were taken to hospitals for treatment.

The victims had just attended a wake in Abucay town and were on their way home to Barangay Magsaysay in Dinalupihan when the accident occurred.
