Magnitude 5.5 quake jolts Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines — A 5.5-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Metro Manila as well as Occidental Mindoro and other provinces yesterday afternoon.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the temblor occurred at around 5:12 p.m.

Phivolcs said the temblor was felt at Intensity 3 in Manila, Pasay, Quezon City as well as the provinces of Batangas, Bulacan and Occidental Mindoro. Intensity 2 was felt in Caloocan, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong and Taguig.

The earthquake was felt at Intensity 4 in Calatagan, Batangas; Puerto Galera, and Calapan, Oriental Mindoro.
