25,902 cops get promotion
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police has promoted 25,902 police officers, the PNP reported on Saturday.
The PNP said the officers were promoted under the 2nd Level Uniformed Personnel Regular and 4th Quarter Police Lieutenant Colonel promotion programs.
PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos on Friday administered the oath of office of 150 newly promoted police officers at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Oathtaking ceremonies were also held in other police regional offices and national support units.
Carlos urged the police officers to view their promotion as a motivation to better serve the public.
“May this important milestone in your careers inspire all of you to keep up the good work. Together, let us make the PNP a paragon of genuine transformation as well as performance governance and a true human rights-based police organization,” he said.
Of those promoted, 688 were elevated to the rank of major; 971 to captain; 89, lieutenant; 1,211, executive master sergeant; 2,656, chief master sergeant; 3,340, senior master sergeant; 4,007, master sergeant; 6,704, staff sergeant, and 6,152 to corporal. Eighty-four were promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel.
