19 Pangasinan areas log zero new COVID-19 cases
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — Seventeen towns and two cities in this province logged zero new COVID cases on Friday.
These are Agno, Aguilar, Balungao, Bautista, Binalonan, Bolinao, Dasol, Infanta, Laoac, Mabini, Mapandan, Rosales, San Fabian, San Jacinto, Sual, Urbiztondo, Villasis and the cities of Alaminos and Urdaneta, according to a COVID monitoring report of the provincial health office.
Ten other areas – Asingan, Labrador, Manaoag, Mangatarem, Natividad, Pozorrubio, San Carlos City, San Manuel, Sto. Tomas and Tayug – each logged one new case.
The entire province recorded only two new cases on Thursday and six on Friday, bringing the active infections to 74.
In Mandaue City in Cebu, 13 barangays recorded zero active infections on Friday.
These are Barangays Alang-Alang, Bakilid, Basak, Casili, Centro, Guizo, Labogon, Mantuyong, Tabok, Tawason, Tingub, Tipolo and Umapad.
The city’s public information office said Barangays Cabancalan, Cambaro, Canduman, Casuntingan, Cubacub, Ibabao, Jagobiao, Maguikay, Opao, Pagsabungan and Subangdaku each have only one active case.
Barangays Looc and Paknaan have two active cases while Banilad has three.
Meanwhile, Lapu-Lapu City had the most number of vaccinees in Central Visayas during the three-day vaccination drive.
The city government breached its target to inoculate 100 percent of its eligible population.
It surpassed its daily target of 9,746 vaccinees, with 11,907 people inoculated.
Lapu-Lapu had administered up to 548,502 vaccines – 328,549 for the first dose and 218,831 for the second dose.
The vaccines given out in the entire province of Cebu hit 3.76 million doses as of Wednesday. More than a million were vaccinated in Cebu City.
