MANILA, Philippines — Five naval vessels of the Russian Pacific Fleet, including two submarines, are in Manila for a routine port call.
Commander Benjo Negranza, public affairs office chief of the Philippine Navy, said the Russian Navy vessels arrived in the country on Tuesday.
The Russian Navy contingent is comprised of Corvette Gremyashchiy, two submarines, tanker Pechenga and support vessel Alatau.
Negranza said the arrival of the Russian naval contingent “underscores the promotion of peace, stability and maritime cooperation in the region.”
