P7.8 million shabu, P3.3 million ecstasy tablets seized
MANILA, Philippines — A suspected drug pusher was killed and shabu worth P7.8 million was recovered in a sting in Nabua, Camarines Sur on Monday.
Bienvenido Dinsing Jr. was killed in a shootout with law enforcers in Barangay Sta. Elena at around 3 a.m., according to Bicol police director Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo.
Estomo said the suspect was a member of a major drug syndicate operating in Camarines Sur and Albay.
Meanwhile, ecstasy tablets worth P3.3 million were seized in a controlled delivery operation in Taytay, Rizal yesterday.
Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport Central Mall Exchange Center sub-port collector Mark Almase reported to BOC-NAIA district collector Mimel Talusan that 1,993 ecstasy tablets were found in a parcel declared as wedding dress.
The claimant of the parcel, Hert Vlerine Cruz, was arrested.
In Cavite, two unidentified men said to be involved in illegal drugs were found dead in a grassy area in Barangay Zapote 5, Bacoor, Cavite at past midnight yesterday.
Probers said the victims could have been killed elsewhere and dumped in Bacoor. – Ed Amoroso, Rudy Santos
