Vico: No kisses until pandemic over
MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said he would grant requests for kisses from his constituents only when the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
During a visit to Barangay Rosario yesterday, Sotto joked that his supporters would have to wait until the pandemic ends before they can
kiss him.
“Pasensya na po, bawal pa po ang kiss. Ipagdasal po natin na matapos na ang pandemya (I am sorry, kisses are prohibited. Let us pray that the pandemic ends),” he said in a video clip posted on ABS-CBN, which elicited cheers from the audience.
The bachelor mayor said he does not usually make promises, even when he was campaigning for mayor, but it appears he is willing to make an
exception.
“Pangako ko po sa inyo, pagkatapos ng pandemya kahit mag-kiss po tayo puwedeng puwede po (I promise you, when the pandemic ends, we can kiss),” he joked.
There are 137 active cases in Pasig, based on the latest report from the city public information office released yesterday.
The barangays with the most number of cases are Pinagbuhatan with 25; Rosario, 16, and Manggahan, 11.
