Philippines resumes OFW deployment to South Korea
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino workers can again seek employment in South Korea, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported yesterday.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has ordered the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to resume the deployment of OFWs to South Korea following the lifting of restrictions on the entry of foreign workers.
“This is good news not only to our workers and their families but also to Korean employers,” Bello said in a statement.
He directed the POEA to immediately issue the requirements for the deployment of EPS (entry permit system) workers to South Korea.
EPS workers should be fully vaccinated and must secure a negative RT-PCR test result prior to entering South Korea.
On Friday, Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that it would allow the entry of foreign workers before the end of the month.
