MANILA, Philippines — The ban on heavy and light trucks in Metro Manila would remain suspended, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said yesterday.
The MMDA’s advisory follows the national government’s announcement that the metropolis would remain under Alert Level 3 until Nov. 14.
The suspension of the truck ban is in support of the gradual reopening of the economy “so the delivery of cargo, especially medical supplies and essential goods in this pandemic would remain unhampered,” the advisory read.
The MMDA called on truck drivers to drive along truck lanes and follow traffic regulations so the flow of traffic would not be disrupted.
The agency earlier said number coding in Metro Manila would likewise be suspended until further notice.
