NCRPO chief orders cops: Get vaccinated

MANILA, Philippines — National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. has called on NCRPO personnel to get COVID-19 jabs, saying that the vaccines work against the disease.

Danao said 97.13 percent or 22,384 NCRPO members are fully vaccinated while 2.04 percent or 475 have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccines.

He said 192 police personnel remain unvaccinated due to health conditions. Of the number, 95 have contracted the virus.

Danao urged those who are still hesitant to take ?COVID-19 jabs to get vaccinated as it is the only way for the country to return to normalcy.

He also ordered a ?crackdown on individuals who continue to peddle lies about the? efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

Danao said people who are caught spreading fake news about COVID-19 vaccines could face charges for violating Republic Act 11489 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

“We will find those who deliberately and maliciously spread? misinformation. We reiterate our reminder to the public to ?put your safety and your family’s protection first,” he said.
