P600 million smuggled, fake goods seized in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — Around P600 million worth of smuggled and counterfeit goods were seized by operatives of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in Tanza, Cavite on Wednesday afternoon. 

The BOC said it conducted a raid on a warehouse along Soriano Highway in Barangay Mulawin.

Seized during the operation were various brands of shoes, assorted Chinese food and beverages and  medical protective masks. The items were said to be distributed by a group of Chinese citizens led by a certain Anny Ty and Willing Zhang.  

Prior to the operation, the BOC said it received reports that smuggled items were being stored in the warehouse.
