Metro supermarkets to offer affordable frozen meat
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Agriculture (DA) have teamed up with Metro Retail Stores Group Inc. to give consumers access to affordable frozen meat.
In a statement yesterday, the DTI said affordable frozen meat products would be available at Metro Supermarket Market! Market! McKinley Parkway in Taguig City through the launch of the Presyong Risonable Dapat (PRD) Program – Frozen Meat Edition on Oct. 25.
The affordable meat products may also be purchased in Metro supermarkets in Alabang, Binondo, Pasay, and Pasig.
Through the program, consumers can purchase the following pork products, priced per kilo: ground pork at P200, pork chop sobi at P225, pigue at P220, ham or kasim strip at P220, belly at P250 and liempo at P250.
Meanwhile, chicken drumstick, leg quarter, thigh and adobo cut are available at P110 each per kilo.
Since July, the DTI has been partnering with retail establishments and local government units in the National Capital Region so the public can have access to affordable frozen meat products during the pandemic.
