DFA opens Cebu passport processing site
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has opened a temporary passport processing site in Cebu to accommodate more applications and renewals.
The temporary off-site passport center at the SM City Seaside Cebu is expected to serve an initial 300 applicants daily.
It will be supervised by the DFA consular office in Cebu, with all frontline operations such as passport processing and encoding done off-site.
The DFA said the opening of the temporary processing site in Cebu aims to strengthen regional operations and provide additional passport services to applicants outside Metro Manila.
The agency bared plans to open 17 temporary off-site passport service facilities across the country to address backlogs due to restrictions imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
