MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Navy will be hosting the 17th Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) virtually from Oct. 26 to 27, the military announced yesterday.
This year’s theme is “Effective Ocean Governance for Regional Partnership and Stability.”
Navy chief Vice Admiral Adeluis Bordado will preside over the symposium.
The Philippines was supposed to host the symposum in May last year but it was postponed due to the pandemic.
A total of 20 WPNS members and eight observers represented by their chiefs of navies or designated representatives from countries from the Pacific region will converge to discuss and address naval matters of mutual concern.
