MANILA, Philippines — Personnel of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and Philippine Coast Guard arrested yesterday a 48-year-old American wanted for child molestation during an operation in Ortigas, Mandaluyong.
The arrest of Francisco Lorenzo Jr. was made in coordination with the US embassy in Manila, the BI said.
Authorities said Lorenzo was nabbed in his hotel room in Ortigas. He arrived in Manila on Oct. 8
Lorenzo was turned over to the US embassy for repatriation.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente also reported that Chinese national Lu Runguo, 43, would be deported for overstaying.
BI records showed that Lu arrived in the Philippines in March 2019 as a tourist. He failed to extend his visa.
Lu is being held at the BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig pending his deportation.
