BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A former policeman, who is running for mayor of Sadanga town in Mountain Province, was arrested for alleged possession of P2.2 million worth of marijuana bricks on Wednesday.
Sonny Kalaw, 36, formerly of the Manila police, was among five persons arrested in Barangay Poblacion for trying to smuggle 19 kilos of marijuana.
A black Toyota Grandia, a weighing scale, assorted IDs and bullets for a 9mm pistol were reportedly recovered from the suspect.
In Pangasinan, Winy Dumlao, 59, principal of Pindangan National High School, and Victor Dumlao, 57, funeral parlor owner, allegedly yielded six grams of shabu valued at P40,800 in a sting in Barangay San Nicolas in Alcala town.
