SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — Four kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P27.2 million were recovered from a Nigerian arrested in a drug sting in Bacoor, Cavite on Tuesday night.
Reports reaching Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director Wilkins Villanueva said Anthony John Okafor was apprehended in Barangay Molino IV.
The suspect is believed to be one of the major suppliers of shabu in Calabarzon, Metro Manila and Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, the Central Luzon police seized P8.2 million worth of illegal drugs in nine operations in the past 24 hours.
Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon said 12 persons, who yielded more than a kilo of shabu and two guns, were arrested.
“Our campaign against illegal drugs, which is one of the main operational thrusts under the intensified cleanliness policy of our chief PNP, continues to be aggressive and effective because of the intensified intelligence-gathering and operations as well as constant coordination with the PDEA,” De Leon said.
