BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas regional office has lowered Negros Occidental’s risk classification for COVID-19 to Alert Level 3.
Marie Jocelyn Te of the DOH regional center for health development said health care utilization rate (HCUR) in the province was down to 53.85 percent as of Oct. 10 from 74.87 percent last week.
The average daily attack rate (ADAR) in Negros Occidental was recorded at 8.12 percent per 100,000 people.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said lack of personnel hampered expanded contact tracing and antigen testing in the province.
Meanwhile, this city remains under Alert Level 4, with HCUR of 75.9 percent and ADAR of 22.5 percent.
The DOH said 111 new cases were recorded on Tuesday, bringing the active infections to 2,174.
The Emergency Operations Center recorded 12 new cases of the Delta variant in the city. Two of the patients are minors.
