Cop, 2 soldiers face raps for selling guns

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Two soldiers and a policeman were among five persons caught selling government firearms in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Tuesday.

Charges will be filed against Pat. Eliver Jay Soverano, S/Sgts. Gleen Sangyao and Reynaldo Dichosa and civilians Morjan Tumindig and Adams Tumindig, Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police director, said yesterday.

The suspects are being held at the Datu Odin Sinsuat police lockup.

Ugale said the suspects were apprehended in an entrapment led by Lt. Col. Romel dela Vega in Barangay Tamontaka.

Police said three 5.56 caliber rifles, an M4 Carbine, two .45- caliber pistols, two Glock 9mm pistols and a Zigana PX-9 pistol, all marked government property, were recovered from the suspects.
