MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will continue to operate its temporary off-site passport services (TOPS) in Metro Manila until the end of December to address the demand for additional passport appointment slots.

In an advisory, the DFA said the TOPS facilities are at the SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, SM Aura, Robinsons Place Las Piñas, Robinsons Place Magnolia and Ayala Glorietta 3.

The DFA earlier said it is working to reduce the current backlog of more than 20,000 passport applications by Oct. 31.

The agency has also started rolling out regional TOPS facilities with the opening of sites at SM Olongapo Downtown in Olongapo City on Sept. 1 and Robinsons Galleria South in San Pedro, Laguna on Oct. 4.

More TOPS sites in other regions will be opened to serve more Filipinos living outside Metro Manila who are in need of a passport, the DFA said.
