Cardinal Advincula recovers from COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula has recovered from COVID-19, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) reported yesterday.
Advincula, 69, expressed his gratitude to those who offered prayers for his speedy recovery, including CBCP president Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles.
Advincula also thanked the doctors and health workers who took care of him as well as the lay people of the Archdiocese of Manila.
“Naranasan ko rin ang takot at hirap ng pagkakasakit. Salamat sa Diyos, sa mahal na Birheng Maria at kay San Jose, gumaling ako mula sa karamdamang ito,” he said in a video message.
Advincula, who is fully vaccinated, encouraged people to get inoculated.
He also asked the public to follow the health protocols such as wearing of face masks and frequent hand washing to avoid getting infected with COVID-19.
