Call center agent wanted for rape nabbed

MANILA, Philippines — A call center agent wanted for rape was arrested in Quezon City on Wednesday, police reported yesterday.

Mayor Joy Belmonte lauded the Quezon City Police District for the arrest of Dave Wiliam Alido, 23.

“This type of violence has no place in a civilized society where everyone is treated with utmost respect,” Belmonte said.

Police apprehended Alido along IBP Road in Barangay Batasan Hills based on a warrant of arrest for rape issued by Judge Rochelle Manuel of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 97.

No bail was recommended for Alido’s temporary freedom.

Alido will be turned over to the court to stand trial, police said.
