Cop dismissed over Parojinog rape
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has dismissed a police official who allegedly sexually abused former Ozamiz City vice mayor Nova Princess Parojinog.
PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar yesterday said they junked the motion for reconsideration filed by accused Lt. Col. Jigger Noceda on June 13, following the dismissal order on March 25.
Noceda appealed his case, which remains pending before the National Police Commission.
The PNP Internal Affairs Service (IAS) recommended Noceda’s dismissal after he was found guilty of two counts of grave misconduct, acts of lasciviousness and sexual assault on Parojinog.
IAS inspector general Alfer Triambulo said it was proven during the summary dismissal proceedings that Noceda sexually assaulted Parojinog twice at the PNP Custodial Center last year.
Although there were no witnesses, the IAS gave credence to Parojinog’s testimony and junked Noceda’s denial as an alibi.
In August, Parojinog was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in compliance with an order issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 95.
Parojinog has been jailed on drug charges following a raid on their house in Ozamiz City in 2017.
