Town exec’s wife shot dead

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A wife of a municipal councilor was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in Numancia, Aklan yesterday.

Juhnalyn Maribojo, 42, was declared dead on arrival at the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbukon Memorial Hospital in nearby Kalibo town.

Maribojo was in a tricycle on her way to work when she was killed, according to Cpl. Arjorine Mendoza of the Numancia police.

The victim was the wife of Numancia Councilor Jossel Maribojo.

Probers are reviewing footage of a closed-circuit television camera installed in the area to identify the assailants.

They said they have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
