Trucking firm manager slain

MANILA, Philippines — An operations manager of a trucking company was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in Quezon City on Monday night.

Jessie dela Cruz, 46, of UP Trucking and Service, was on his way home when he was ambushed in Barangay Unang Sigaw at around 8 p.m., police said in a report.

Barangay public safety officers brought the victim to a hospital, where he died while undergoing medical treatment for multiple gunshot wounds.

Probers recovered two bullet casings and two bullets from a firearm of unknown caliber at the scene. Investigators also found a .45 caliber handgun in Dela Cruz’s vehicle.
