MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Luzon and the Visayas will continue to experience strong winds and heavy rain as Tropical Depression Lannie passes through the country.
As of yesterday afternoon, Lannie was spotted over Guihulngan in Negros Oriental, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
Lannie is expected to bring strong winds within 36 hours in the southern portions of Masbate, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon as well as in the northern portion of Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands.
In the Visayas, strong winds will prevail in Aklan, Antique, Bohol, Capiz, Cebu, Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental as well as in the northern and central portions of Negros Oriental.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) and Western Visayas.
