2 held for fake swab tests, vax cards
MANILA, Philippines — Two men were arrested for allegedly faking swab test results and vaccination cards in Quiapo, Manila last Friday.
Edito Pan and Jimmy Santisima Jr. were arrested in a raid along Hidalgo street.
Fake confirmatory certificates bearing the logos of the Department of Health and San Lazaro Hospital and a fake COVID-19 vaccination card were confiscated from the suspects.
They are accused of faking vaccination cards for P500. They were caught by police in the raid falsifying a Pasay city vaccination card, according to a News5 television report.
They will face charges of falsification of public documents and violation of the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
The suspects denied the allegations.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar yesterday lauded the arrest.
He said police also confiscated fake dry seals of universities and government agencies from the suspects, who reportedly also produced fake birth certificates and marriage contracts.
