MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers arrested the consignee of a parcel containing P2.2 million worth of kush or high-grade marijuana delivered to Marikina City yesteday.
Arthur Antonio was apprehended upon accepting the parcel, which held 1.8 kilos of kush. The package – declared to contain cookies, toys, balloons and school supplies – was examined upon its arrival at the DHL warehouse from California.
The package was reportedly sent by Allan Gatchalian.
The controlled delivery was staged by operatives of the Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group.
3 escape sting
In Caloocan, three suspected pushers escaped from police during a sting on Monday night.
Drug Enforcement Group director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina identified the suspects as Noel Halili, Bravo Lusac and a certain Boy, who left behind around 25 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P170,000, drug paraphernalia, an Amazon tablet and a cell phone at the scene of the sting in Barangay 185. – Robertzon Ramirez, Emmanuel Tupas
